Yes, release candidate 1 is march 98, I got it direct from
Microsoft. I have been on the beta list for the whole run of the development cycle. I would assume that if you are on the beta list and did not get RC1 you should let them know, they will probably send you a copy. Main difference I have noticed is support for more obscure peripherals and some 1394 bus support missing in the December release.
I agree completely, NT is much more solid than Win98 and for most of what I do it is also faster, the NT speed advantage is most apparent on large memory (128M and bigger) machines because of NT's much superior memory management.
