You are correct. Actually, we were totally out of step in the computer retail business, by insisting on selling things to the Canadian Government for a reasonable profit.

We could easily have done 10 times our best gross by selling product at little more than cost, and yes, we probably could even have spun it into an IPO or sold the business for someone else's shares or debt that we might never have collected on.

However, after 10 years of profit, we just got tired of the increasing hassle from our manufacturers and distributors and decided to slowly wind it down to coincide with the expiry of our lease and retire. I think we were one of the few owners in the computer business to quit with most of what we made over the years.

Just call us believers in the 'old math'.
