Yes, by all means, repost. Once it's on SI it's public. Re Wells - it depends on which edition you have - I have the 1971 Doubleday edition of 'The Outline of History', revised at least ten times since 1920, it includes ten pages of revision notes. The last revision was done in '71, but following HG's notes, by a Raymond Postgate and HG's son, G.P. Wells. On page 132 there is a diagram of 'Possible Development of Language', and there are a number of disconnected lines, with many question marks. From scanning the revision notes, it looks like this is his from the 1949 edition. Reading his revision notes just now, H.G. impresses me as an intelligent man with an open mind, as willing to learn as to teach. I would rather expect that, given the opportunity, he would today on this thread point to many of his earlier statements as hogwash. As any good student should .....
