"I have to say if the VC's are getting out...then it should give XCIT
shareholders reason to think about the current level of pricing as it coincides
with earnings and forward statements"

Reread what I said

there could be many reasons for getting out

and some you havent even listed

but if you are a shareholder or a potential shareholder you need to think about it......

as well as a fact that it could be just a rumor..

and if the stocks are going to trade in tandem...instead of on their own fundamentals..then the rest of the group needs to think about it as well

However, you would hope some sanity would return with each company announcing their earnings and forward statements and they would start to trade somewhat independently
(except I like Susan's idea that she saw about Seek and Xcit mimicking each other....good for a trader if one precedes the other)

and btw, that gain that you saw this week also correlated with a certain analyst who just changed companies....wouldnt surprise me to see it settle where they were before he issued his recs.

lycos is already close to that now by about 3 bucks
