joe, good answer-one interesting point is the market is flying and these semi's are doing nothing really even with this strong liquidity. my point i believe we are due for a correction in the market and and since thse stocks have done nothing and eps stink they will come under severe pressure-also people say asia is in the market or in these stocks. well, maybe in other industry but for technology its been the backbone of their growth. amat gets 58% of their business in asia and with japan in the verge of a depression that no doubt does not bode well for techs or amat. usually the end of bull market or a correction begins when you start to see massive speculation in stocks. just in 1996, we saw massive speculation in penny stocks as they doubled or tripled on huge volumes-comparative corp-right now we are seeing that with internet stocks-only time will tell but this market has classic signs of being ready for a correction-it will be interesting to look back. my point is i have been long and anybody who has has made a fortune why not take some money off the table why this uncertain period of worst growth since 1990-regards to the s&p flat growth(worst since 1990 according to first call) high valuation, and go in cash. remember, their was a time in the market that 10-12% a year was great and people actually sold stocks because for no other reason the needed the money.the market are up 12-18 % so far this year if i was investor i would take the money off the table and enjoy the rest of the year.right now just shorting stocks.
