Are you forgetting that Checkfree has 3-5 year contracts with NationsBank. I wonder if contractually that would automatically bring in BofA if they are absorbed by Nations? I think I should check into that?

>>>But it would be a blow just in terms of lost business.

A very true statement. If BoA/Nations decided to 'do it themselves', I don't think they would attempt to market it to other banks (they're smart enough to know others would stay away). BoA/Nations will have to decide if it is cheaper to do it 'In-House' or not. It most likely is not, but Banks don't always make the best decisions.

NationsBank has a history with CheckFree and the CEO for the new Bank is the former NationsBank CEO. In addition with the Intuit, TCI, BoA, deal: Intuit has a 300 million dollar investment in CheckFree, so I think they'll be looking out for their investment. We'll just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure BoA/Nations would not be ready to go national for around a year due to Merger stuff, systems, etc.

Benny(Thank God for Chase. Chase is now the number two bank, but I won't be long before they merge with someone to jump back on top).
