{Copy of my posting on the "Single Digits" thread. This is tedious. Can't we just all try to get along?}:

Bruce, thanks for posting the newsgroup.

I am a VVUS long, come over here for a look since you shorts don't want to consolidate with the 97/98 thread.

I'm not surprised by the negative postings. Muse doesn't work for everybody, VVUS is the first to admit that.

I invested in VVUS only after meeting and hearing out an extremely satisfied MUSE user at a friend's dinner party. That's only a single piece of anecdotal evidence, but that encounter and other postings I've seen over time leads me to conclude that MUSE certainly is not a medical fraud.

Do you acknowledge that an impotent person helped by MUSE or any other ED treatment might not be a frequent poster on an impotence support group newsgroup once he feels his problem has been "solved". In other words, can we expect a "support group" to constitute a representative sample of those who have tried MUSE?

Your post demonstrates a combination of anger and ignorance.
MUSE is here to stay. Call up a few urologists and ask about ED and the various treatments. Some urologists are not crazy about MUSE but most have prescribed it as the first choice to treat ED.
Why do you think MUSE had the highest sales in 1997 for ED?
Do you think it was because MUSE was a bust? Now that Viagra is out MUSE will have to step down to the number 2 position. The vast majority of urologists will try Viagra first, then MUSE, then the needle. Viagra is now the hot drug that MUSE was a year ago. The script numbers on Viagra have been extremely high.
What this tells us is that many men who have some degree of ED have been lurking in the shadows waiting to try this new drug
without seeking prior treatment. Men already on MUSE or the needle who were looking forward to trying Viagra probably had scripts
written or phoned in days before Viagra was on the shelves. These men already know if Viagra is for them. Some will switch, others
will not. Now what do you think will happen to the millions of men who are going to seek treatment for ED for the first time and
fail on Viagra? Do you think they will just give up or try an alternative? Most doctors will offer MUSE as the next alternative
and if it does not work they will offer the third alternative if the patient is willing to jab himself with a needle. Go and ask
any man (ED or not) if he would rather use an urethral suppository or a needle for local treatment. There is little question as
to what these men will tell you. The bottom line in all this debate is $$$$$$. The question which needs to be answered is very
simple: How many ED patients will fail on Viagra and succeed on MUSE? I myself do not know the answer to this question and nobody
can say for sure.

One thing that we can say for sure is that the world population is higher than ever and lifespans are much longer. As I write this message, father time is creating more and more ED patients.
Vivus is a solid investment at present levels. The company will grow well as time progresses. MUSE will not win over Viagra but it will make hundreds of millions of dollars as the years pass.
The company will continue to develop better products.

One last comment. Todays market players tend to want immediate results. Jump on the hot stocks and jump off the cold stocks is the mantra of todays so called investor. This method is a good way to make quick easy money if you are a good market timer.
Once the true verdict is out on Viagra and ED market potential, investors will take a second look at Vivus and start jumping
back on the MUSE bandwagon. Many traders or speculators don't care about fundamentals. Once they see Vivus stock price bottom out and begin to rise they will jump in to be the first aboard the momentum game. I myself am the worst market timer in the world. I
bought into Vivus heavy with an average price at about 10 1/2. When vivus hits 12 or 13 (it will), I will not sell out my position
for a quick profit as it will probably dip back down before moving up another leg. I will wait for the entire ED game to play
itself out. These things take time and in the long run those who do not believe that Viagra will be a panacea for ED will profit
handsomely on their Vivus positions.
