I was told by ETrade that they will only margin a listed security above 5, and that they will not margin a BB. I will check with them again Monday, but I'm pretty sure about that because I have tried and it kicks back.

Bill - I use Suretrade and Fidelity.... most stocks under $5 must be paid through cash account. If you have margin account but have cash in it, just put the transaction through as a cash transaction. All they care about it that you have cash to cover.

I was told by Schwab that DGIV has not been cleared by the SEC as a marginable stock as of yet. If that is true I would say that Etrade was mistaken. You should double check with and I will do the same with Schwab. Let me know what you find out.
