Dwight, saying that you find alcoholics and people who are promiscuous offensive as well does not mean that you look magnanimous because you find homosexuals offensive. So your evil brush paints a wide swath!! That is supposed to be positive or something? I must be missing your point. I personally define charitable and tolerant as being able to look beyond the most basic things like sexual identity when evaluating people, and opening your heart with love and kindness. Incidentally, not all Christians are obsessed with sin and punishment. More moderate Christian churches really don't emphasize these concepts very much at all, and I have been to a lot of churches in my life.
