Hi ET, Thanks for posting. Here's a "fair use" quote from the Forbes article. Someone had asked a question on how the process works.

To find and destroy infected meat quickly,
SatCon has adapted its biowar instrument to
peacetime pursuits. The device scans meat with
an ultraviolet laser that causes each strain of
bacteria to phosphoresce in its own distinctive
glow-what chemists call a spectral pattern.

SatCon's machine can already identify salmonella,
generic E. coli
and a strain called E. coli 1932.
The infamous O157:H7 strain remains elusive, but
the very toxin that differentiates it from
garden-variety E. coli presumably has its own
optical signature, and Goetz says he's close to
figuring it out. Says Lisa Nolan, a bacteriologist
with North Dakota State University who was
present during Goetz's initial tests: "It's just a
question of time."

Nice to see it can be used on Salmonella as well. The article was fairly positive in its review.

Regards,
Jim

Hi ET,

Thanks for posting the Forbes article. Been busy with Value Engineering and the Nashville tornado the last couple of days so I haven't been able to stay on top of my SatCon research. Think Eisenhaure must be excellent in the VE department since everything developed seems to have a cross application.

Jim, when are earnings going to be released? March orders should drive next quarter but it sure would be nice to be in the black now. We'll have to scan the 10-Q for juicy one liners!

Keep spinning,
Cabrina
