Yes they can, if they take it on a bounce or if they hit an overhead shot. The problem with mid court, if the ball lands at your feet, it is extremely difficult to handle even for a pro. In most cases they will move to mid court to take a shallow shot on a bounce, which they can rocket back, but it is not the place that a pro will hang out, they prefer the baseline with strategic moves to the net. I believe mid court in tennis is called no mans land. This may be a regional term, however, I believe this is where nextel is at the moment in the context of its recent pricing history, it is either going higher or lower, but it will not stay range bound in the 30 to 32 area.
