Well, yes, I would agree with you that the PRI is totally evil. America plays a very heavy hand internationally because of its vast wealth and its interest in maintaining the status quo. Unfortunately, many totalitarian regimes are supported. Obviously, we want a stable government in Mexico so that we can at least try to maintain our borders, and keep most Mexicans on the other side, unless we need their cheap labor on a seasonal basis. It is a very cynical system. Human rights is not even an issue for the gringos. The Americas originally belonged to the Indians. They are taking them back, but it is a very slow process. In California is it simply with a huge per capita birth rate. In Mexico, it must include getting the wealth redistributed, since everything was confiscated over time. I think that Marcos' heart is in a better place that those of the oppressors, starting with the Spanish who came in and conquered and robbed and broke their spirit. Of course nothing is ever black and white, and there are good people on all sides. Goodness, I am sounding like a revolutionary. I should shut up now, instead of raving on about colonial mentalities and everything!!
