These guys need to get our of the brokerage business..

On Thursday, a Hurst, Texas, brokerage firm called Key West Securities snapped out a press release asserting that K-Tel is "severely overbought," and deserves to trade at $5-$7 a share. The next day, an Austin, Texas, outfit called Stock Investor Trading News whipped up a release of its own, calling the stock a "strong buy," and predicting K-Tel will top $100 a share. Key West, of course, is short the stock; the principals of Stock Investor Trading News, including a hedge-fund manager named Louis Riley, are long. And as for us, we're simply astonished.

RAL may also be a candidate this week. It reports 4/22 according to 1st call, has had several recent upward revisions, and positive money flow for the past week. MACD improving. Not wildly overbought.

Thanks for the response on Metastock.

jenna,

VISX & AVEI, it may also be that VISX has only one much weaker competitor (BEAM and it is planning to buy it out ???) and AVEI has GDT, BSX, MDT & JNJ as its competitors, although AVEI is kicking MDT & JNJ asses now.

also, how big is the potential market ? how many of us want to get laser surgery to restore our eyesight to normal, versus how many of us need to have bypass surgery which the use of stent is recommended ?
how would be HMO's view in reimbursement of stent vs more conventional procedure ? these are factors to be considered on a longer term basis.

as for Friday, I asked Kevin to kindly check blocks action on AVEI for me, he said blocks are terrible.

When there is a disconnect between trading action of a stock and perceived fundamentals, I normally will pass ... until the stock trades as expected. You could be correct on AVEI, so let's see. PIR was another instance, good fundamentals with upcoming earnings,I watched it drop from 30 to 27ish. Eyeballs said it was very weak, a disconnect between perceived fundamentals and trading action so I passed. PIR fell more after earnings.
