Thanks John for the links... I am a beginner investor... using SI boards to get some sense on high tech companies... I am so pleasantly surprised by the informative postings here and the willingness to help others out by sharing the info.... In my previous posting (139) I shared the fact that I made a mistake of putting in an order for BRCM on opening day at the market price and I ended up buying it at 67... lesson is that DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER AT THE MARKET PRICE FOR AN IPO ON AN OPENINGDAY< MARKET MAKERS PLAY FUNNY GAMES WITH IT AND WE CAN GET HURT...you know that it closed at 53 5/8... loss of $14/share for me... Well, several people responded to my note showing empathy and giving me reassurances and useful links to get more info .... Thanks to you, Hal Jordan, Nigel, James O'Brien ...seems like we have the community feelings here.. All I could share with you at this point is my stupidity (placing market order on opening day)... hope it will save someone expensive lesson.... Thanks for the help.
