FYI, A friend showed me the April 98 issue of the Journal of The American Denatal Association (JADA). On page 419, there is an Enamelon ad which reads: "Flouride alone will not remineralize...If you put in vitro lesions into a fluoride solution, no remineralization will occur. "1 INTRODUCING ENAMELON ...Because fluoride needs soluble calcium and phosphate for remineralization. <there is picture of an enamel rod, with fluoride/calcium/phosphate ions> - Demineralization occurs when plaque acids attack tooth enamel causing loss of calcium and phosphate. - Fluoride fights cavities in a number of ways; however, its ability to remineralize could be limited by the amounts of calcium and phosphate ions present in saliva. - ENAMELON contains the active ingredient sodium fluoride formulated with soluble calcium and phosphate ions. - ENAMELON penetrates demineralized areas of tooth enamel with fluoride and an assured level of soluble calcium and phosphate ions. - ENAMELON enhances remineralization to strengthen tooth enamel. <logo> Remineralization Technology to Help Stop Cavities Before They Begin To find out more about Enamelon technology, visit us on the Internet at www.enamelon.com (1. Quite a lot! ADA evaluation procedures typically require at least three months for completion. Appicants must supply objective data from clinical and laboratory studies supporting the product's safety, efficacy, and promotional claims. All clinical trials conducted must be in strict compliance with ADA guidelines and protocol. Applicants must provide evidence that manufacturing and laboratory facilities are properly supervised, are adequate to assure purity and uniformity of product, and that products are in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practice Code. All advertising, promotional claims and patient education materials must be reviewed and be in compliance with the Association's Advertising and Exhibiting Standards. All patent information, ingredient lists, and other pertinent product information must be reviewed and approved. ADA Seals are normally awarded for a period of three years, at which time resubmittal is required. Any change in composition of an accepted product must be submitted for review and approval before it is marketed. For more information, contact the Council on Scientific Affairs, ADA, 211 East Chicago Ave. Chicago, Ill, 60611. 312-440-2500 ext. 2840. ============ Anyhow, I continue with no position. Greg
