amd is in a master slave situation with intel.intel was asleep at the helm with the advent of sub 1000.this is a golden opportunity for amd.

There's a notion that what's bad for Intel is good for AMD. The notion is wrong. What's bad for Intel is death for AMD.

You're missing something. AMD is a loser.

The fact of the matter is that the sub-1000 PC market isn't all it's cracked up to be. Overall PC growth is slowing, and prices for more powerful desktops are collapsing anyway. Margins are razor thin, and AMD's financial position is already precarious (why do you think their credit rating has just been downgraded, right before they were forced to go begging for another billion dollars?)

The pop on Friday was due to options arbitrage. I expect AMD will keel over into the low teens fairly quickly.
