I wouldn't put too much value on software "secrets". There's nothing new under the Sun when it comes to software. Particularly if this magic has been under development for over 10 years. It would take years for somebody to make use of any "secrets". Unless, of course, the prior employees have access to machine readable source code. Then, I could understand people getting upset. That's VXTK's number one (only?) asset.

There are many different ways of using the same basic techniques to get similar, but different results. Take a lot at all the different patents (and "patent pending"s) for Y2K solutions, for instance. Most of them are just variations on the same theme.
