Mike, go to the following Adobe site: adobe.com Follow the directions. Basically, you will be asked to name a place to download the file to. This is not necessarily the same place the expanded and installed program (which will consist of a number of files) will be on your hard disk. (What I do FWIW is to have a \download subdirectory, which I then subdivide below, and bascially below that give each downloaded program from the net its own descriptive name. Its useful for keeping track of what you have, keeping a compressed backup copy for you expanded version (assuming you are lousy with disk space, as I am), etc.) What you then do is point MS explorer to the name of the file you downloaded and hit enter. The downloaded file is in this case (and nearly always) executable: it launches its own InstallShield program which then expands the downloaded compressed file and installs it on your computer, much as would happen with a purchased CD. There is generally a default hard disk directory name the program will install to, and generally also the choice to put it somewhere else if you really want to. I generally go with the default, but sometimes not, if I want to group similar programs under a parent directory name. That's about it kemosabeee.<g> Doug
