Rocky, not many arguments with your last post, but . . .

1. Yes, the Jazz2 is insanely priced. No question about it. About as stupid as charging $199 for the Zip Plus. IMHO, the PP Zip will be discontinued very, very shortly and the Zip Plus will start retailing for $129. A pretty good value.

2. The article you so graciously provided a link for re: the LS120 compares external to external drives. Obviously Iomega now realizes that the internal drive is the way to go, thus creating a permanent price point of $99 for it.

3. You neglected to mention that the Zip, as opposed to the LS-120, provides both superior documentation and superior backup tools per the article. To the consumer, both are very, very important.

4. Everyone knows you are short Iomega a little above the current price. This has to be one of the stupidest investment decisions I have ever seen (next to buying Iomega at $32 (Ouch)). What do you think you're going to gain from this short? $1? BFD. In the meantime, you're losing sleep every night that either someone will buy the company and hose you bad or that Iomega will turnaround by cutting ad costs and produce a profit in the 3rd quarter that will also bring it back to the $9 - $10 range.

Take my advice - cover your short now and put the money to more productive uses. You'll do much better. If Iomega moves more than $1 in either direction in the next 3 months, I'd certainly be very surprised.

Good luck.

Rocky, one more point . . .

You neglect to put the "specialist" factor in play. Let's assume she was as smart as you (I know, taking a huge leap there), and started shorting the stock at $32. She might very well soon decide to cover and push the price up to $11 or so by spreading a rumor of a takeover (Dell, per the Yahoo thread - she could have started that one).

Don't tell me that you think this is beyond the power of the specialist. She did this in February, pushing the stock up to $10.50 before shorting again.

IMHO, she'll do it again at some point. Hope you're not short then.
