Richnorth this is absolutely the truth and why IMO we are in the most dramatic asset bubble in history:

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"

Notice it doesn't say that money is evil. Nothing is inherently evil, just in the way it is used. A gun is not inherently evil as used by a markesmen in the olympic games, however used for death and destruction by a gang member is.

Here is one for you:

Haggai 2:8 The silver is mine, the gold is mine, so saeth the Lord of Hosts.

God owns the economy and the financial system, so it has the seeds to be inherently good.

Here is another one for you:

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and which he hath given will he pay him again.

If you got the gold and silver, you should be sharing it with your brothers who are lest fortunate and not storing it up in earthly mansions, but storing up treasures in heaven.

Awesome God even promises here that he will pay you again so that you can help more troubled brothers.

Try to understand compassionately the plight of the homeless and figure that maybe they got on the edge and didn't have family or friends to bail them out. I have been on the edge many times, but by the grace of God go I, I had family to bail me out. We all don't know how close we are to being layed off or in financial difficulty.

Experiment: next time you walk past a homeless person, give them a $20 bill, shake their hand and ask if they will give you a blessing and you will get a big radiant shine from their eyes and a God bless you that will warm up even the most hardened heart.

Give it a try.

God bless you for bringing that point up,
bb

The life that really is life. That's so true. Black Elk went to Europe with Buffalo Bill, and literally found himself, as a very handsome young Sioux warrior, the toast of London and Paris. His adventures there were quite what fantasies are made of.

When he later spoke of those time and the money and the clubs and the women, he said "during that time I was a dead man."

He saw this world, not the world of sin, but the rather spiritual worldly life even the indians were living as "a shadow world behind the real one."

Very interesting how true the scripture really is.
