I have never traded gold or its surrogates. It's up this morning again to slightly over $312. It may just be signaling a lack of confidence in currencies rather than increased inflationary expectations. However, the May 19th Fed meeting could be quite momentous. Various Fed officials are dropping interest rate hints. Obviously, this would enhance the dollar's value against the Yen and Euros. Tough spot!
