I think Microsoft has its hands full fighting other other gorillas (too many too name). But SAP is not one of them. I do not believe it is even close to match the power of SAP.
It took SAP 2 years/2000 programers to develop R/3. I do not think Microsoft is even going to try. Microsoft is just not going to try.

ERP is already crowded with BAAN and Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, etc. THose would be what we should watch for.

My most concern is not anyone would over take SAP overnight, but rather the slowing of the market. A gorilla has no power over this whatsoever.
