Agree. But the market has users like me who have no great need for burning speed. For me, that is what fixed hard drives are for. I would never risk my audio and work directly off any removable drive. Users like me whose only choice would have been Jaz/Syjet or data-DAT/Ditto for backup and archive now have a cheaper and much more universally compatible solution- CD-R and CD-RW.

Don't think you will see this happen because by that time, CD-RW should fully replaced by DVD-RAM.
