Berney:

As I was born before the brown shoe war started....(WWII) , but well after the Great Depression and purchased my first equity in '54..... I have seen/participated/wonandlost/ in several bears.............

It's much easier to profit in a down trend, which as a rule is very rapid, for the trader, than in the normally slower moving up trend.

However, the typical bear is a doom and gloomer, rather than an opportunistic trader and seems to revel in the disaster, rather than in attempting to generate profits for himself.

This said, I think I shall leave well enough alone and revert to the "reading of and not posting to " mode as far as the BK is concerned......gggggggggg
