Martha's husband and daughter are long gone. When I first started watching her she was still married, and it seemed like her life must be perfect. But in reality she is such a perfectionist that she was a cold, shrill and rigid mother, and was obviously too busy spinning sugar and collecting three hundred kinds of table settings at estate sales to provide much love or comfort to her husband. He could not get any of what he needed at all, and finally had an affair with a woman who worked in their home just to get Martha's attention. It is reported that she is very hard to work for, very demanding. She has a very large staff of mostly young gay guys running around getting everything perfect for her. Someone said publicly last year that she had borderline personality disorder, which is serious. I cannot remember who it was, and really have no idea why I know this much about her. It's a little scary!!
