Good post, I like the part about the x2 modem. What I think you didn't think of though is that the next step in modems is to not have one. By that I'm talking about xDSL or cable, and as you know it will be VERY possible to have full motion programs I.E. T.V. or movies. How about this for the kill app, You get home 30min late to watch "the x-files ; )" so you boot up your computer with xDSL line and watch it from your computer from the beginning as if your not late. Or even days after the program aired you can view it or ANY X-files that ever aired (no vcr needed). Now I now this is not going to happen over night, but it will happen. I also would think that people would like to have a very nice audio card for this (ac-3) from CREAF : ). But by this time a $750-1000 computer would most likely work for this just fine... only with a good video/sound card.

Also this should be 1 of the killer appz for the TV/PC combo.
