You wrote: History does not record how Vespasian died.

If I am not mistaken, I read somewhere that Vespasian was captured, killed somewhere in Asia Minor and stuffed for display by his enemies. It seemed that Vespasian was so confident of himself that he went to meet with his adversaries virtually unescorted and he paid the price for it.

As being stuffed was an ignominious end, I tend to believe that most early historians omitted to mention how Vespasian died, out of loyalty or fear of sorts.

To get some idea of what it is like to see stuffed humans on display in a museum, perhaps you might like to borrow the sci-fi video, "Planet of the Apes, Volume 1" from your local video store and view it. I think you might also find volumes 2, 3, 4 & 5 equally entertaining and edifying.

Just imagine apes having a religious credo of their own, not unlike that of present day believers!!!
