Well, for whatever it's worth, I'm going to try Wall Street Access. I've also heard good things about Dreyfus and DLJ direct for position traders. For day traders, ABWatley sounds ideal, until you go to the discussion group and find a lot of frustration. Nobody's ideal, but Schwab's web performance has deteriorated to a point where it's virtually unusable much of the time. Today, I got a "server down" message for a few crucial minutes, and the order status function was down in the software version when I tried it. I was also logged out of the web version for inactivity while I was actually navigating and waiting for a response! Later - worse and worse. Suddenly got a "you are not authorized for this secure site" msg, and now I can't get in at all!

Schwab web and tel-broker are down currently. I am really getting mad with Schwab and planning to move to other firms.

This is ridiculous. I can't log on to either the Web site or Streetsmart. I am very close to running out of patience with these clowns. Any suggestions for a new broker appreciated. I had the same problem this morning with the web page and was unable to do some trades in the time frame they needed to be done. I had to get on the phone and wait for around 5 mins before I was helped. I too am running out of patience and would like some suggestions on a new broker. I just need to find a good one that has Options and Mutual Funds as well as normal trading..
