Eric, thank's for the timely tip

Eric,

All work and no play for Ciena I venture to say.

But long term intentions about a five-phase strategy do not justify a 2 1/2 rise for Ciena and I read between the lines on the Ciena thread that sales are not going to well for the basically one product leader with three pending patent lawsuits.

So I sold short a few shares to pick up a easy buck from the profit I made today with FIBR.

Other then that the only interesting spot in the news release is:

<< Cisco and CIENA have also joined with other leading industry participants to announce the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF), an open industry forum that will work to accelerate deployment of next-generation optical products and services.>>>

Just curious if OSICOM is part and parcel of the participating leaders.

What a pain to be in business.

ED

I wouldn't let the news release about CISCO and CIENA teaming up convince me that FIBR and CISCO won't team up. Just recently CISCO announced an internet telephony agreement with OZEMY. They had just made an announcement of exactly the same arrangement with another provider of internet telephony (a few days earlier).

Anyway, if you read the article it sounds like with the exponential growth of data, voice, video and graphics transmissions and bandwidth requirements, there'll be room for many players in this market for several years. I saw it as very positive for FIBR, especially since they already have an in production DWDM product.

CISCO may well announce a similar agreement with FIBR.
