<<Joe, last I heard Navy was PART of defense.<g> >>

Yes, you're right<g>. Slip of the brain. I'm located
here in Wash. D.C. area and I was thinking in terms
of building locations, like the Naval Research Lab
which has lots of computer hardware.

The way the different branches of defense operate, I get the impression that they're all autonomous parts anyway.
Instead of just one central place that spends money,
its more like a dozen or so.

Then, there's also the
Pentagon, National Security Agency, Central Mapping
Agency (I think that's the name), CIA, FBI, etc.
All these places use lots of computer hardware.

Then, non-defense, there's IRS (that would be a great
contract for COMS - I'd probably be able to
retire if they got that one...<g>, National Atmospheric & Oceanic Administration (NOAA)- many branches of this,
National Archive Center, a dozen NASA sites,....

<<I have not seen (noticed) an Ad on TV for 3COM in a long time. They certainly are not hitting the V.90 modems like they did a year ago when they came out with the x2.>>

That sounds a little discouraging, or otherwise maybe it's
too early(?). I've been going through a lot of the
Computer type magazines, ( VarBusiness, InfoWorld,
Computer Resellers, Infoweek,....) and I always see
about 2-3 pages of 3COM advertisements. Not much x2 stuff,
mostly their NICs. I also noticed in the WSJ, that
a few times, they've had full page ads on x2, and once
there was a 2 page add on the Palm Computers.

I hope COMS can start rolling out these x2s efficiently,
otherwise were in for a slow summer, I think.....
