Everything is "expectaction", Mark. That is the "rule", to the extent that there is one in "short-term" trading. T has had a nice run, recently, sell on the news, as they say.

That said, I said after ADBE's last report that I thought they would be in high 30s, low 40s before they hit 50. So much for my prognosticating abilities. The only thing I can figure is that people are looking forward to this next upgrade cycle, and in particular (perhaps) to the PageMaker replacement. If it looks impressive in Alpha, that in itself would give a boost to stock. I, of course, don't know a thing about it, so I can't say it that is a factor or not. In the meantime, I, like you, just hold a core position in ADBE thinking that, as they continually make adjustments in their software portfolio for the Web, they will be eventually be the leader that they once were, and their stock price will reflect that leadership.

Best,
Sam

So what's going on today...

ADBE is under takeover speculation. Should the speculative bubble burst, look out. Given development cycle, it is highly unlikely that upcoming products are fully responsible for the stock swimming upstream.
