We've heard all kinds of comments before..

I want to see the "BEEF" before I comment.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The market for DUV lasers is getting hot and will get hotter. There's plenty of room for other players and it would be naive to think others won't compete.

Cymer will give us more direction in a few days.

Komatsu likes to talk, just like L-P.

That's my opinion.

Aloha

Doesn't seem to be a big deal. Komatsu "hopes" to capture 20% of the market in fiscal 1998. Let's be generous and give them 15%, based on the order rates of Lambda they have about 8%, so this leaves Cymer with 77% of the market which is pretty close to historic levels. Of course, if they could capture 50% in two years this would be a coup. I think the probability of this happening is close to nil.

I say follow the money. Cymer's results as the year progresses will tell us whether Komatsu is full of hot air or not.
