You know the buy out price question is kind of useless right now. But if someone wants to buy at a depressed price, then they should bid a 40% premium to current market value. What do you think IOM board will do?

yep, reject out of hand.

that is why a takeout price argument is useless right now.

Besides which, not many companies will take the inventory risk that IOM got into. Look into Dell, CPQ, GTW, IBM going into custom order system (which isn't really custom order).

Mostly, computer companies are following the Burger King model. You can have what you want, but its cheapest and fastest as the standard model. IOM has to follow a similar model. For example, the 5 different SKUs for zip is ridiculous. I bet they have 5 different boards and chipsets.
