My favorite is Dr. Alexander Elders' "Trading for a Living". You can pick it up for about $42 from amazon.com ($18 below retail).

It has a companion study guide (make sure you buy the book first), which helps you test your knowledge of the material in the book when you're ready.

Dr. Elder is a trader who happens to have his PhD in psychology. Therefore, he not only teaches the construction/math around all the various indicators and systems, he also teaches the assumptions behind TA and the psychology of the bull/bear battle that TA is trying to expose.

This is the book that got me into trading about 5 years ago. If you want more details, I'll be glad to supply them... you might use e-mail or private message unless you think it's on-topic...
