News report on the radio today:
A scientist has found carcinogenic substances in the exhaust of diesel fuel. This is not a plus in the expectations of Green Oasis' success.
I will look for more detailed info in tomorrow's paper.

We all know that Nuclear Power is clean and safe.

Im a Mutant, Youre a Mutant

a post-atomic childrens song

by Dennis Chang

(sung to the tune of "You Are My Sunshine")

Oh Im a mutant, and youre a mutant.

We were born after the Judgment Day.

You have but one arm, but Ive got three arms,

So lets go, be happy, and play!

We have no hair nor an epidermis,

Your back is hunched and my necks askew.

Were asymmetric. Thats how we like it,

And we like these tumours we grew!

Oh Im a mutant, and youre a mutant.

We were born after the A-bombs fell.

Irradiated, but we dont hate it;

While were friends, we arent in hell!

Nuclear winter means lots of skiing,

And making snowmen, and building forts.

It would be perfect, except for fall-out.

So lets play, cause life is too short.

Oh Im a mutant, and youre a mutant.

Our genes are warped and it really shows:

The missing limbs and the extra fingers,

The crooked spine and the knotted toes,

Vestigial tail and ingrown nails,

But you know, thats just how it goes...

Yes you know, thats just how it grows!

During one of my visits to the site, I caught a whiff of a petroleum-like odor. By moving in the direction of the wind, I quickly determined the source was off site.

The plant is located in the harbor district, surrounded by huge oil tanks, and on land rented from Allied Terminals that they rent from Exxon. There are no homes in the immediate vicinity.

The story in Columbia was about radioactive lint floating in the air in peoples' yards where their children play. DHEC permitted that but has a serious problem with our tiny plant with its minuscule emissions. This causes me to wonder what their philosophy really is.
