David,

One of the things you missed on Bio-IDs is our relationship with Data-Card. That one didn't get away! To my knowledge, they are the biggest. Just because news isn't hitting every day, doesn't mean things are dead.
Also there are 3 main computer software companies, Microsoft, Computer Associates and Oracle. We are already partnered with Oracle. A partnership of some type with either one or both of the remaining companies would be big news!
Our products seem to work well with Windows NT. I hear windows NT is the future for Microsoft. Who knows, but that's what I hear.
All over this country, there is a ready market for secure data-base protection. Any government and private concerns that require absolute verification of person and entry times will look seriously at Identix products. If price has been a barrier, maybe the barrier is about to be broken!
I feel very secure myself with the future outlook for IDX. I am positive we will be in there for a lion's share of the major deals. CTST this week-end, Look for some news! Earnings due out, look for Randy's usual pre-earnings surprise news! You never know, maybe we even broke even for the quarter. I doubt it, but you never know!

P.S. I can't wait to hear Randy's conferance call this time. I think he will talk about more of the future of IDX then he has in quite awhile. I believe with the earnings dissappointment it will force his hand in that direction. I also think he will address the direction of the company on the Bio-id side and clear up any mixed signals that have been sent out. At least I certainly hope so!

David, What are you doing Tuesday, 4/28...????

Biometric Technology
2:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Moderator: Jim Wayman, Director
U.S. National Biometric Test Center
San Jose State University

The use of biometrics continues to grow across a wide
range of applications throughout the world. From banking
to welfare, user organizations increasingly recognize that
precise identification and authentication are key
requirements in their systems. After many decades of
limited use, sales have begun to soar. In 1997, more
biometric devices were sold than the previous two years
combined - a trend which will accelerate as the number of
viable products on the market continues to grow. Dozens
of new technical approaches have also been introduced
in the past year. Which ones will actually make it to
market and when? The seminar will also examine the
current state of biometric applications in banking,
welfare, law enforcement, and information security.
Newcomers are urged to attend the Biometric
Foundations Workshop on Monday to get the most out of
this seminar.
