If compatibility is not an issue, then Intel will not dominate the CPU market. Mac's market share won't shrink to few %. There are many people still using floppy, believe it or not. See how people react to first generation of DVD-ROM that can't read CDR and CD-RW. Backward compatibility is not a MUST but always a big WELCOME.

Is it possible for IOM to engineer a Zip disk cartridge that could, itself, act as a caddy for a 3.5 inch disk......
