buying calls is a highly leveraged way of controling a lot of stock for not much $$$$ but u can lose everything.... as the stock price has to excced the price of your call... on the date of expiration... I hold a large # of may 7.5's... I held the same before the last earnings report and sold them when the stock peaked at 9.... large purchases are an indication that investors somewhere are confident the stock will rise after earnings and therefore that earnings will be good... this is an assumption based on the fact that there is no other significant event that is schedules within the may expiration period... I hope this helps.
