You are correct, you can not margin a BB stock. However, if you have a BB stock in a margin account your broker can and will loan your shares to a MM for a fee. The MM can then short the stock if he so pleases. If you live in Canada you can do any thing your heart desires with a BB stock.

Hi Steve, over the years I've heard we cannot, however brokers can margin bb stocks. For what its worth. NYSbob,can you advise?
