This looks good:

Rambus Inc.

Revenue:$9.7M, + 62.6%

Net Income:$1.8M, + 505.4%

Rambus said its second-quarter sales were attributed partly to royalty revenue stemming from pre-holiday shipments of Rambus ICs used in the Nintendo 64 video game machine. However, Rambus said investors should not expect the effects of seasonal activity to continue into the third fiscal quarter because other royalty stream may not be as strong.

Analysts are also conservative about near-term estimates, but said Intel's decision to support the Direct Rambus DRAM for PC main-memory applications make Rambus' long-term future brighter.

"We believe Intel's decision to not support any future DRAM architectures for PC main-memory applications except Direct Rambus DRAMs suggests that Rambus' long-term future is solid," according to a recent report from Mark Edelstone, an analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, San Francisco. - Jennifer Baljko
