Has anybody shorted KTEL with Datek? Is it shortable through Datek? Thanks.

Two Market Orders Not Executed All Day Long.
This morning I entered four market orders before the bell this morning. Two of them got executed, but the other two did not and expired at the end of the day. One of these orders was for a stock which traded half a million shares today. That is not what I would call the very best execution. Has this kind of thing happened to other people?

I am considering opening an account with Datek. I currently use another online broker but I can't use stop-loss orders on nasdaq traded stocks.

Do you know if Datek allows you to use stop-loss orders on nasdaq stocks?

thanks

larry

>> I'll decide for you...

Whew! I'm glad that's settled. Thought I might have to
make a decision there ... <GGG>

Seriously, your comments are well-taken and much appreciated.
(May my holdings appreciate similarly! Get MOVING.)

In truth, I can live with Datek's lack of front-office
support (hell with 'em) as long as problems are minor.
Example: I was supposed to get a dividend on a holding
several months ago. No big deal--12.50 I think. As
I recall it was ex-dividend in October and was finally
posted in February (did appear correctly on the 1099,
though). Yes, this is backoffice; the point is I
never once considered calling the front office about
it. Who needs Pepto-Bismal for 12 bucks?

But some folks here have had MAJOR problems. That
keeps me worrying.

But I LOVE those fills in the spread, and putting in
an order and seeing it represented on the market a
few seconds later, and making a trade and having it
reflected in my portfolio a few seconds later,
and reversing positions for 10 bucks and ...
lots of stuff. Except Dilbert.

<Sigh> Do you think we'll get options here or logic
from the distaff side first? <ggg>

Regards,

Spots
