Dear Steve:

I have only 2 questions that come to mind right now:

a) Why was WCII so concerned about having a planar
geometry (all antennas at approximately the same height)
for their Washington test? Since all users are probably
allocated different frequency bands (it is high time
I should check out Nortel's equipment, since I only
looked at LU/HP-STII), I do not see what the problem could
have been.

b) Fred Dawson's article in Multichannel News mentioned
that WCII was exploring a new pricing mechanism for
its customers. Does WCII intend to meter traffic, i.e.,
to charge by traffic carried, not by lines available?
If this is the case, I can see why many users are
reluctant to sign on.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy

I almost feel bad that he is not here to gloat - ALMOST.

Some discounters, some SOES, Instinet, Bear Stearns, and CSFB were earlier on the offer. MS was really not on the offer. Currently (this was from this AM) Chicago SE has a seller and Instinet and LE are buying.

I'm trying to find out if shorting against box using convertible debt is allowable (as SteveB or someone suggested earlier). With modest targets in 8 months being ~70% higher than here, we are either in a GREAT buying op, or there is some news out there that none of us (or many analysts) are aware of.
