I just snapped my first spears of the season yesterday. God I can't plant enopugh of them.

Hey, did ya' ever score wild ones? You can find them here and there. And when you find a good patch, it's the mother load. Most are longer and skinnier than their hybrid counterparts, but heck, watta'ya' want for free!

I'll bet that's one thing you miss about the US - tender asparagus that doesn't require peeling.

Silly jhild, ALL asparagus requires peeling at the foot, if it is to cook evenly. We have WONDERFUL asparagus here. The white kind, too.
