Well, that last paragraph certainly was dire. In general I agree, but not to such extreme. The whole internet sales industry would be insanely overvalued if it weren't for the "huge potential". I do see a settling coming, but I think the shorts that are waiting for a crash will be disappointed. IMHO most shorts will feel forced to cover high and head for a more exciting rush somewhere else and the few that remain will get a slow but nice return over the next few days. Remember, KTEL has been under $10 for years and was under $5 for a few of them.
Until last week.
I really believe that the move to the net will be great for k-tel. They are completely set up for direct marketing and have name recognition galore. However, the value of a stock tends toward the value of the company and KTEL just isn't worth $40.
$14-$16 on earnings(+36%LQ), $18-$20 for expanding their product line, and mabey $25 for the web-site (if it's a good one). From there they have to compete like everyone else on the internet, and that's alot of competition. Have you seen a Launch Magazine? That's where the Pop music market is headed and without part of that market their web-site will just be another channel 73 commercial 800 number. Or they will have to compete on price and that would certainly hurt initial profitability.
Either way I see it. If you have patience. It's not a bad place to be short.IMHO
