Kenneth,

Well apparently you have information that I'm not privvy to. I went back to the Qwst press release and no where in it is there mention of the "order" being split. There is mention of "additional" services...so I guess I read the ASND portion of the network as begin a new expense, not a split of the existing order with Cisco. Do you have other data that suggests differently?

As for the Acclear product, BAY has always had an equal opportunity to sell this and other products to carriers and end customers. I don't see the Qwst opportunity as being anything different with one notable exception. The VPN service will require that a Cisco router be used at the premise. I guess in this regard that would eliminate Bay and other vendors from the VPN opportunity.

Gary

This is not really an Accelar type of a network. This type of a network would be more suited to a BCN. The Accelar is just a LAN switch with routing. Qwest is building a Voice over IP network probably using IP over SONET. I'm not sure if any current Bay high end boxes support POS, definitely not the Accelar.

I can say that I heard someone from Qwest speak at Interop (VP of marketing I believe), and they were extremely biased toward Cisco. He also interupted a different panel discussion I was attending to protest the fact that Cisco was not included in the discussion. It was horribly unprofessional and that has sort of soured me on QWST.

Not to say I wouldn't buy the stock, but hey I'm a pig.
