Ciena is still suffering from their comments (made at their Q497 earnings announcement) that WorldCOM may be delaying purchases for Ciena equipment over the next 6 to 12 months.

Once Ciena demonstrates they have a broader customer base, their business and stock performance should get back in gear.

Anybody hear anything about the conference. CNBC was reporting that
intel was talking to a tough audience this morning but i have not
heard any post conference comments of note.
