3Com Network Delivers Campus and Remote Access Videoconferencing,
Internet and Intranet Services to Los Angeles Community College's

22,000-Plus Students and Faculty

3Com Corporation (Nasdaq:COMS) today announced that Cerritos College,
a full-service community college in Los Angeles County, is standardizing its new multimedia network on advanced 3Com systems.
The new $3.8 million network provides voice, video and data
services to 22,000 students and 500 faculty members at 15 times the
speed of Cerritos College's previous configuration. The network is
based on 3Com ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) and workgroup Ethernet
switches, and will extend to 30 buildings across the two-year school's
140-acre campus.
3Com is also partnering with Cerritos College to
train its faculty to use the multimedia network for instructional
purposes and to teach students and 3Com customers to use 3Com systems.
