If this is true for all build-to-order companies, it smells like a great business opportunity to me. Anyone have few million they can throw my way so I can capitalize on this opportunity? :-) :-)

Danny (long on MUEI)

Maybe it's because I changed the system the day after I
ordered it then. In any case, I called Dell (though it pained
me to do so). They say 7-8 days for a new P400. That's
by far the best. Gateway has now said they won't ship P400
until May 12th at earliest. Quantex says 3 weeks. The
reasons I'm getting from everyone except Dell is that they "think"
they are still optimizing the product. Dell says they just need
time to build it to order. Then again, Dell was one of the
slowest in the Windows mag tests. Micron was 2nd behind
Gateway. Micron and Gateway by far have the nicest
salespeople and customer service reps.

Still searching...but at least I'm getting a good feel for the
efficiency and pluses and minuses of some of these ops,
though MUEI is the only stock I'd buy at these prices.
