Jim,
The dirty work is promoting an alternate chip, K6, M-II, GX etc.
Where would chip prices be if there were no K6?
Like I said...DELL just sits back rides. Who's blaming them? Not me.

James, I think the irony is IBM making chips for AMD who inturn is selling them at lower prices and helping drive down the price of PCs.
This is also driving down the price at which IBM must sell their own PCs and is a much bigger negative than anything they would gain by making the chips for AMD.
