ahh...forward movement & not a moment too soon. incidentally, i picked up the spring issue of videography and scoured it in the hope of finding our target ...well, at least i read all about RAID... and, among other things: AVID's fibre channel storage solution delivering simultaneous streams of 2:1 compressed video... PLUTO TECH'S ( remember them...) Hyper SPACE, a high definition (HD) digital video recorder featuring the SPACE platform which conforms to SMPTE 267M-18, which means it can record an uncompressed 16:9 signalsampled at 18 MHz. this 360Mb signal, according to PLUTO, is the common denominator for all proposed HD formats, and it will permit Hyper SPACE to be configured to address any of the emerging HD standards... AND I READ ABOUT MICRONET....oddly enough, for the first time today. there was a blurb on page 106 ( feb 98) under digital storage & networking....regarding improvements to its DataDock 7000 product that include support for Differential SCSI....the discussion ends with...."...these products allow users to mix & match SCSI storage devices including hard drives, Iomega Jaz & Zip drives, Syquest drives, and magneto-optical or DAT drives .
